In 1972 InterGest was founded by Prof. Dr. jur. Heinz Anterist. He was Chairman of the Supervisory Board at InterGest France S.A.S. until and a licensed lawyer in Saarbrücken until he passed away on August 12, 2020. The name InterGest is derived from the French term ‘gestion internationale’ (international management).
Prof. Dr. jur. Heinz Anterist had been working as a legal advisor for the transport company Anterist & Schneider when becoming aware of the fact that clients needed a lot more than just logistics services in order to sell in foreign countries. They also required assistance in establishing subsidiaries, payroll, book keeping, customs clearance, legal and tax matters.
Dr. Anterist searched for a provider of such services, but without success. He decided to fill the gap himself by launching a specialist business. The idea of InterGest was born.
In 2006 he received The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany from the former German Federal President Dr. Horst Köhler for developing this company concept and for setting up the worldwide InterGest Organisation.
In 2001 Heinz Anterist handed over the management to his son Peter. Peter Anterist is also a legal practitioner and visiting professor at the University CUFE in Beijing.
In order to distribute the tasks of the expansion of the group, the InterGest Worldwide was founded as a parent company in 2016 with the three General Managers Prof. Peter Anterist, Nils Blunck and Dr. Alberto Canova.
Over the past 40 years InterGest has steadily expanded its worldwide presence. As at early 2019 there are 45 InterGest partners operating in 51 countries, covering the most important international markets.
InterGest places significant emphasis on emerging markets, building up a presence in these markets even when general trends are still focused elsewhere. Examples are planned InterGest partnerships in Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Panama and Uruguay.
All IntrGest offices employ around 750 people worldwide who administer over 1,700 branches and subsidiaries of international companies.
